- Minimum stay: you’ll have to commit to stay in Andorra for at least 90 days. This is mainly important if you want to renew your DNV.
Some of these documents (e.g. criminal record) might need to get an apostille to confirm their originality.
Furthermore, Andorra requires for many of their active and passive residency permits that you have a basic level proficiency of Catalan. However, this is not the case for the digital nomad visa.
You can find more information about the requirements on the official website of the Andorran Government.
Costs and Fees for the Nomad Visa Program
If you apply for the Andorra digital nomad visa you’ll also have to pay an application fee.
The application fee for the DNV would be EUR 2.500. On top of this, there would also be the cost of EUR 500 for your actual residency permit.
Application Process for the Digital Nomad Visa
The application process for the Andorra digital nomad visa is set out in Decree 212/2023. Hereby an overview of the steps you need to take into account.

The purpose of the application form is to confirm that you qualify as a digital nomad. Therefore, you should include the necessary documentation to provide proof of this.
After you submit your application, you’ll have to wait for the Andorran authorities to review your application.
If they deem it necessary, they could ask you to provide additional information within a timeframe of five working days.
Once your application is complete, they have fifteen working days to review your application.
If you didn’t receive any feedback within fifteen working days, your application is deemed to be denied. In this case, you can decide to appeal the decision.

Thoughts on Living in Andorra as a Digital Nomad
Andorra is definitely not a typical destination for digital nomads. However, nestled in the Pyrenees in between France and Spain, it offers a nice environment. If you like winter sports or hiking, you’ll definitely enjoy your time in Andorra.
Moreover, some coworkings started to open in Andorra to provide a good infrastructure to work from. This also allows you to get to know other nomads spending their time in Andorra.
However, if you’re looking for a big digital nomad community with a lot of things happening, Andorra might not be the ideal place for you (yet). Part of the reason for this is that there is a limit on the amount of (digital nomad) visas that are granted each year.
Therefore, Andorra seems to prefer quality over quantity and prefers to keep their community small.
Anyhow, Andorra is not for everyone because of the specifics mentioned before. Furthermore, the cost of living – in particular housing – is rather high.
Nice to know is also that the Andorran government provides free Catalan language classes to enable you to fully integrate.
